Market Overview

The major digital assets remain materially higher than they were in Issue 004. Bitcoin has advanced 10.2%, Ethereum 7.6%, Solana 15.8% and XRP 20.7%. That broader participation matters: the move is not confined to one asset, even though today's price action is weaker across all four majors.

Bitcoin is now trading near $76,700 after reaching an intraday high around $78,500. The pullback is orderly so far, but the market is entering a higher-risk window. Bitcoin ETF flows were negative on both 8 and 9 September, sentiment has moved into Greed, and US inflation data is due tonight in Sydney. Together, those conditions favour patience around confirmation rather than assuming the issue-to-issue trend will continue in a straight line.

Why this matters: Price has risen strongly since Issue 004, while the latest ETF data and daily momentum have softened. A market can remain structurally stronger and still retrace. The next clean signal will come from how price responds to the CPI release and whether institutional flows stabilise.

Cross-market focus

US inflation: Headline and core CPI are the key scheduled catalysts. A softer reading may lower yields and support risk assets; a hotter result may strengthen the dollar and pressure crypto.

Positioning: Greed at 69 shows a clear improvement from the previous issue's Neutral reading of 47. Stronger sentiment supports participation, but it also reduces the margin for disappointment.

Liquidity: Bitcoin's intraday range between roughly $76,700 and $78,500 provides the immediate reference area ahead of the data release.

The Headlines

  1. Bitcoin is 10.2% higher than Issue 004. The asset is near $76,671 despite a 1.9% decline in the latest session.
  2. Altcoin participation remains broad. Ethereum, Solana and XRP are all higher issue-to-issue, led by XRP at approximately 20.7%.
  3. Rolling ETF demand remains positive. Across available sessions from 24 August to 9 September, all-fund totals show approximately $1.744 billion of Bitcoin inflows, $1.041 billion of Ethereum inflows and $158.1 million of Solana inflows.
  4. The latest Bitcoin flow signal weakened. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a $120.2 million outflow on 9 September, while Ethereum recorded a $34.7 million inflow and Solana $11.2 million.
  5. US CPI is tonight's main risk event. Headline and core inflation releases are scheduled for 10:30pm AEST, making reaction after the data more informative than positioning immediately before it.

Institutional ETF Flow

All figures combine the funds reported by Farside Investors. Rolling totals cover available US sessions from 24 August through 9 September; 10 September reporting was incomplete when this issue was prepared.

AssetLatest completed sessionRolling periodReading
BTC$120.2M outflow$1.744B inflowStrong positive allocation across the period, but two consecutive outflow sessions show near-term caution.
ETH$34.7M inflow$1.041B inflowPositive latest flow and a substantial cumulative allocation since Issue 004.
SOL$11.2M inflow$158.1M inflowSmaller than BTC and ETH in absolute terms, but consistently positive across the period.
XRPNot independently verifiedNot independently verifiedNo reliable all-fund aggregate was available from the selected primary dataset.

The key distinction is between the rolling and immediate picture. Cumulative flows since late August are clearly positive, while Bitcoin's latest completed session was negative. That does not erase the larger allocation trend, but it does remove ETF flows as an unqualified near-term tailwind.

Market Structure

Rounded observation zones based on current price and the latest trading range. They are not recommendations.

AssetCurrent areaLower referenceUpper referenceConfirmation to watch
BTC$76,700$76,000$78,500A daily close above $78,500 strengthens continuation; a close below $76,000 weakens the immediate structure.
ETH$2,442$2,400$2,500A close above $2,500 expands the range; a close below $2,400 exposes a deeper retracement.
SOL$99$98$103A close above $103 restores momentum; a close below $98 weakens the current range.
XRP$1.34$1.30$1.40A close above $1.40 improves structure; a close below $1.30 signals loss of the near-term floor.

Assets on Watch

Bitcoin: The $76,000–$78,500 range is the immediate decision area. The reaction after CPI matters more than the first pre-release move.

Ethereum: ETH remains higher than Issue 004 and retains positive latest-session ETF flow, but $2,500 is the next rounded barrier.

Solana: SOL has delivered the strongest issue-to-issue move behind XRP. Holding $98 keeps the current range intact.

XRP: XRP leads the four tracked assets since Issue 004. The $1.40 area remains the next clear test.

The Ledger Insight

Intelligence before action. The larger picture has improved since Issue 004: prices are higher, sentiment is stronger and rolling ETF allocations are positive. The immediate picture is more balanced because Bitcoin flows have turned negative and CPI is imminent. Let the market confirm direction after the information arrives.
Sources & Methodology: CoinGecko market pricing, Alternative.me Crypto Fear & Greed Index, Farside Investors all-fund ETF tables and the Forex Factory economic calendar. ETF rolling totals were calculated from the published daily totals for 24 August–9 September 2026.
